Refrsh Songs has not opened yet. Today this site does exactly one thing with your data: if you ask for launch updates, it stores the email address you typed so it can tell you when the product is ready.

What this page stores

When you submit the launch-updates form, one row is written. It holds:

• the email address you typed, lowercased;
• the date and time you submitted it;
• the word “landing”, recording that the address came from this page.

That is the whole record. There is no account, no password, and no profile attached to it.

What this page does not do

• No third-party analytics, tracking pixels, session recording, or advertising networks.
• No cookies are set by this page.
• Nothing here is loaded from another company. The typefaces, the stylesheets, the images: every file this page asks your browser for comes from this site, so no third party is told you read it. That includes the fonts, which most sites fetch from Google.
• Your address is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone.
• Nothing you submit is used to build a profile of you or matched against other sources.

How visits are counted

The main page counts its own pageviews, itself. The counter does not run on this policy page or on the terms page at all, so neither one is counted. The counter is Umami, an open-source measurement tool running on the same private server as this site; the page talks only to this site, and the numbers are stored here, not at an analytics company. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page viewed, when, the site you arrived from, your browser and screen type, and a country derived from your network address; the address itself is not kept as part of that record. Repeat visits are recognised only within a single day, by a salted hash that is discarded daily; there is no profile of you here to add a second day to.

Your network address

So one person cannot submit the form hundreds of times, the server briefly counts recent submissions per network address. That count lives in memory for a few minutes, is never written to the database, and disappears when it expires or the server restarts.

Separately, the web server that hosts this page keeps ordinary access logs (the requested address, the requesting network address, and a timestamp), which is how any website stays operable and defensible against abuse. Those logs are not linked to the updates list.

What the emails will be

One message when Refrsh Songs opens, and at most a few before that if something worth telling you happens. No newsletter, no drip campaign, no marketing from anyone else.

Removing yourself

Email hello@refrshsongs.com and the row is deleted. You do not have to explain why, and there is nothing else of yours to delete.

When the product opens

Refrsh Songs works on your own Spotify account, and only after you grant it access on Spotify's own authorization screen, which lists exactly what it may do. To do its job it needs to see what you are playing and to change your Liked Songs and the playlists it creates for you. It does not post anything to your profile, does not publish what you listen to, and does not sell or share your listening.

You can revoke that access at any time from your Spotify account settings, at which point Refrsh Songs can no longer read or change anything. Your Spotify account itself is governed by Spotify's own privacy policy, not this one.

This section describes intended behaviour of a product that is not open yet. When it opens, this page will be updated to describe what actually runs, before anyone can sign in.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what happens to an address already on the list will be sent to that address first.
